Science Alive!

This week we had Science Alive come and visit us at school! We learned about forces. We cannot see forces but we can see their results. We learnt about pushing, pulling, twisting, gravity, air resistance, friction and magnetism.

"I learnt about twisting, that you spin it around." - George

"Gravity helps things go down" - Max C

"When you put a tree at the bottom of the ramp the car stops." -Milo

"I enjoyed making the helicopter, playing with the parachutes and playing on the skateboard." - Travis

"I really enjoyed the skateboard, I had to push it." - Sydney

If you would like to have some fun with forces at home too, have a look at these links:

Rhymes

We read a fabulous book called "Oi Frog!"

It has lots of rhyming words and some very funny combinations of animals sitting on things that rhyme with their name:

Puffins on muffins
Snakes on cakes
Owls on towels
Gibbons on ribbons
Lambs on jams
Bees on keys
Pumas on satsumas

The poor frog didn't want to sit on a log because he didn't want to get splinters in his bottom!

We painted pictures to illustrate our favorite caption:

Lion on an iron (Ouch!)
