Ahuriri children’s path.

The children in Ahuriri spontaneously started to build paths this week during playtimes. They used the rings of trees that had been felled during the rebuild.

Here are a couple of videos showing how well they worked together to support the path walkers on their journey.

We have seen lots of variations on this path building over the last few days – the children have used the plastic building equipment as slabs and have also made double paths.

We think the children are showing great teamwork skills – in both the building and the tidying up afterwards!

T3's introductory cross country course

Cross country adventures today!

As T3 are very new, we ran an obstacle course around the school:

We balanced,

  crawled,

 jumped,

dodged

and climbed our way back to the classroom.
We had lots of fun and enjoyed sharing our run with our T group and families.

Anzac Baking

T1, T2 and T3 spent time baking Anzac biscuits. First we read the book "Anzac biscuits" by Phil Cummings and Owen Swan and talked about how special the biscuits were.
We enjoyed measuring and mixing.

Ms. Moran also shared a medal that belonged to her Great Uncle.
The studio smelt delicious and we enjoyed eating the results of our learning today!

Here is one of the recipes we used:

Anzac Biscuits
1 cup flour
1 cup of castor sugar
1 cup coconut
125g butter
2 tbl sps golden syrup
1 tsp (baking soda) baking powder
3 tbl sps boiling water
