Red and Purple Mufti Day is a hit!

The Mufti day was a hit with the children as they came to school dressed in their bright colours to support fund raising for the Cancer Society.   Some children also enjoyed a baked goody!  Thank you so much for your support with this especially those who also provided cakes to sell.  We raised over $1300 - so thank you very much

The girls show off their flashy clothes, Amelia has even sprayed her hair purple!

Two more very classy dressers in Ahuriri.

Pierce finds his own red costume - oooo arghh!

Concentrating on creating some red and purple accessories.

The baking was yummy!

A Special Week at the Library

This week we had two special events in the library!

On Monday it was The Very Hungry Caterpillar day to celebrate the birthday of Eric Carle. We went to the library to celebrate! Mr Topham came to read us the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar' then Mr McCallum had some colouring pictures ready for us and then we finished the celebration with yummy caterpillar cupcakes!

On Wednesday the Christchurch City Library Road show came to see us. They read and acted out the story "Do Not Open This Book". They were so funny! We laughed a lot!

We have done so many fun things this week!

The Art Gallery

We all enjoyed the Art Gallery where we got to meet Robert the huge silver gnome, seals and the cow.  We then drew pictures of our loved ones in our own waka!

The Magic Tree

We had lunch and a play under the Magic Tree!  Look at all the lovely little garden fairies I found under there!

The Worm Farm Trip

On a beautiful Wednesday morning Ahuriri boarded the bus for a fun filled learning day.

First stop - the worm farm with Pete.  Pete engaged the children in learning all about the different habitats that worms like to live and we got to make our very own worm farms!

Everyone was pretty happy with their worm farms!  Thanks Pete!

The Blue Stuff!

Last Friday, we got out the Imagination Station.  This is huge blue foam pieces that let the children's imagination run wild!  Can you guess what we have made?
