This week we enjoyed Wacky Wednesday. We listened to the Dr.Seuss story and came up with some crazy ways to dress for school. We then had a Wacky Wednesday sports day and Teddy Bear's Picnic. Check out our photos!

Fire Fighters in our Community!
Today the fire fighters from Addington Station brought their big red truck to school as part of our community project. Everyone was very excited.
First, we met Griff and Mark. They talked about all the things that Fire Fighters do. Then they dressed up Mrs Phillips! The clothes were huge but very protective!
Afterwards we wrote some pretty awesome stories. Here we are role playing a great adventure story with our heros the Fire Fighters.
Look at our ACTIVE listening faces! Griff said Ahuriri had the best listeners with wonderful manners. Our teachers were very proud!

Then, we read Griff a story about the ToyTown Fire Engine. He loved it!
Then came the best bit! We were allowed to climb, prod and play on the Fire truck and then squirt the hose. We had to knock over the cones and it was so fun! Buzz, and Simon were so caring and helped us a lot.

Whanau Afternoon
On Wednesday this week we had our whanau afternoon. All the children in the school got together in mixed aged groups to learn something new. This time we practised asking "What colour is it?" in Te reo Maori through mixing different coloured play dough. It was lovely to see the children interacting and showing our school values of care and respect to one another. The older children had spent a lot of time creating these awesome lessons and we are so happy to have them as teachers for a short while!

Watery friends
Asha's kind mum has brought us some tadpoles to look after. This week have enjoyed seeing their legs grow. We are wondering what changes will take place next week!

Constable Ross
Today Constable Ross came to visit us. He talked to us about what to do if we get lost and how important it it to know our phone number and address. The we got to sit in his car and hear the sirens! It was very exciting!
