Volume and Capacity!

This week we have been focusing on Volume and Capacity for maths.

Today we had to think hard and work together to measure the volume and capacity of some containers we made.

First we had to think about how to make a container. We made lots of different sized and shaped containers to use!

Then we had to decide what we were going to use to measure the capacity of our containers; dinosaurs? cubes? teddy bears?

We filled our containers with what we had chosen. Then we had to count how many our container could fit, some of us counted in two's to help us figure it out faster.

We recorded how many our container could fit and shared our finding with a buddy to see who's container could hold the most.

Over the weekend perhaps you could build a container and see how many objects fit inside?
