Our learning day

In Ahuriri we start the day with Active time, where we create, invent, tinker, communicate with others, and think. Other parts of the day have a different feel and we would like to show you around:

Reading, takes part during Active time. Children take it in turns to continue with learning through play whilst others read in their groups with a teacher. Follow up literacy activities are part of helping to learn. Some of these are listening to stories on the ipads, writing and drawing about the book we have just read or other interesting challenges.

In maths this week we have been looking at Measurment. In our videos you can see us talking about words related to size as well as making playdough worms of specific sizes. We are also drawing around our feet and comparing their sizes:

Making crazy fish with our year 7 and 8 buddies:

Of course our days can look very different as we enjoy P.E., interesting visitors, Jump Jam, assembly,  visiting the library, and many more expieriences. We LOVE learning in Ahuriri with all our friends!
